The Ramblings of an Unimportant Individual

Listen to the Mustn’ts, child,
Listen to the Don’ts

Listen to the Shouldn’ts
The Impossibles, the Won’ts

Listen to the Never Haves,
Then listen close to me —

Anything can happen, child,
Anything can be.

~ Shel Silverstein

The seven most inspirational Bible verses in my life are:

 7) Psalm 86:11-13
Teach me your way, O LORD,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.

For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.

6) Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

5) Matthew 22:37-38
Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

4) John 8:47
He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

3) Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

2) Psalm 139:13
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

1) Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

I have two names picked for my children… my son will be Elijah we will call him Eli and my daughter will be Lilia we will call her Lily.

The places I am going to visit someday are Kenya, Chernobyl and Italy

I have three best friends: Kaci; who I met in the seventh grade, Aspen; who I do all kinds of crazy stuff with and Jamie; who led me to Christ.

I go to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and so far I completely love it.

I am an amateur photographer. I restore photos. My favorite type of photography is decay photography because it is depressing yet satisfying.

I have an amazing ginormous family. We have always been very close. No offense to anyone in my family who isn’t Nate… but he is my favorite cousin. He is awesome!!

….. I can’t really think of anything else to say at the moment and I am incredibly tired…… so, that is all for now….

it is so difficult to find the time to blog no matter how much i may want to do so. i am not disciplined in any way at all, and that frustrates me. so… anyway, i have a physical in eleven hours… my first physical to be exact, so i am a bit nervous… don’t really know what else to write about…

by the way, southwestern has been awesome!! I just started my second semester… completed last semester with my highest GPA ever, a 4.0!! Which is amazing with my record… seriously, i graduated high school with a 1.8… i am not stupid though, so don’t think that. My IQ is 146… i have problems with discipline, as i noted, and i was not a good studier at all.

i am very tired now and would like to go to sleep…. night!!

How has God blessed you today?

:)) :))

I was really worried about not having a laptop when I started school. I had an amazing desktop, however no matter how hard I tried it would not fit into my backpack so I could use it to take notes in class. HAHA

This past weekend my Grandmother, Sister and I went to The Woodlands to visit my Aunt Nora for Lauren’s baby shower. When we were driving, GMA said, “You need to put like $20 into your account before it goes dormant and is transferred to the state.” I said, “What account?” “The one I opened for you when you were like four.” “OH YEAH!! I forgot about that. Wasn’t that for my college, because I’m in college and I need a laptop for school.” “Yeah, I guess you are in college, if there is enough in the account, you can use it to buy a computer, there is nearly $500 I think.” “Awesome! Thanks!”

sooo, I went yesterday to the bank to check it out, and the account had $649.72!!!

I was able to buy a laptop last night for $630!!!! AAAHHH!!! :)) :)) :))

God completely provided for my needs exactly when I needed him to as always!! He waited to remind me of the account now that I am actually motivated to do school and am at Southwestern rather than three years ago when I started college because He knows that I would have blown that money on junk I did not need back then.

PRAISE GOD DAILY FOR EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE FOR YOU AND REMEMBER TO BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS AS HE HAS BEEN A BLESSING TO YOU!!! :)) :)) :))

Honestly People, nothing is going on right now…. work, church, work, church, clean out the fridge, work, church… getting kinda boring if you ask me. I do have a wedding in October I will be photographing… YAY!! (but seriously, that is exciting news. NO SARCASM DETECTED!!!)

…I got a new flash for my camera…

…And I have been having fun with photoshop…

So I definitely have not posted in anything in like forever and a day!!!

I do apologize.

Not like a whole lot of people pay any attention to the ramblings of an unimportant individual anyway.

I have so very much to tell though.

I don’t remember what all I have blogged about in the past, but now I start new.

What has happened since April 16, 2008?

I was saved on September 7, 2008. I thought for years that I had been saved in July of 2001, when I was thirteen; however I did not live my life as if I had the Holy Spirit in me. On a Wednesday night In September of 2008 our pastor’s father asked us each to write out a statement of our faith. I sat there for twenty minutes trying to write something down, but was unable to do so. Jamie, our children’s minister came and sat down next to me, and we began to talk about something. She noticed the trouble I was having trying to write out my testimony. She told me that it is a problem if I can’t write out my testimony and that if I needed to talk to her, I could. The following Saturday I went to her house and we talked for about seven hours about my past and salvation, it was then that she helped me to realize that I needed to be saved. The next day, she and I met with Greg, our pastor. I accepted Christ into my heart as my Lord and Savior that day. I was baptized on October 12, 2008. Now I can say with complete certainty that God sent his son to die for my sins and that by accepting him into my heart, as I have, I have been given the gift of eternal life.

But that’s not all…

I have applied to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I feel that God has called me to share the Gospel with other people. This is the call of every Christian; however I feel that God is calling me more specifically to serve him through missions. I am hoping to gain a better understanding of God’s will for me by attending the college at SWBTS. I enjoy taking photos of families and children and I also enjoy making videos of all sorts. I am interested as to see how God will use me in that aspect. I am enthused at the possibility to travel overseas and participate in some type of media ministry.

So yeah, all of you out there who do pay attention to my blog, keep me in your prayers. Pray that God will show me his will for me and allow me to feel peace and courage about it.

Thank you all for all of your support in every way that you possibly can be!!!

I love you all and so does Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, so everything has been pretty much the same. I have been working at the photolab and it has been awesome. They have been talking about hiring me so that would be great. They started off by referring to me as their helper then it became intern then assistant and know they are calling me their almost employee so I think that is a good sign. Anyways, I’ll keep you posted, I will put up my brochure soon so If anyone needs pictures done in the DFW look me up, they won’t be professional but they are dirt cheap.

my email… kristen978@gmail.com

I have been interning at a Photo Lab near my house for the past couple of weeks and I swear I have never had so much fun. I have learned so much from these people. Everyday I have gone I have learned some huge technique or skill. It is amazing. I love the whole process from setting up the studio and getting the lights just right to posing the clients to developing their orders.
